Floridians voted in November 2014 for a constitutional amendment to allocate 30% of documentary stamp tax revenue for the next 20 years to protect Florida waters and acquire lands that protect Florida's waters.
Special acknowledgment is given to Aliki Moncrief, with Florida Water and Land Legacy, for being the prime organizer of this February rally held during the 2015 legislative session to reinforce to legislators to allocate funds in keeping with voters' wishes. Unfortunately, we know how the 2015 legislative session turned out.
Sustainable Tallahassee members and volunteers participated in the rally, along with busloads of people from around the state.
Floridians’ Clean Water Declaration Campaign
Sustainable Tallahassee signed the Floridians’ Clean Water Declaration because we value our waters and know that water is our state’s most precious - and most vulnerable - resource.
The Floridians’ Clean Water Declaration Campaign is a . . .“collaborative effort driven by dozens of civic and environmental organizations from around the state. We are coming together to create a force for change – a change in the water policies of the state of Florida. By sharing ideas and resources across stakeholder lines and watersheds, we will be stronger – stronger together to command our right to clean water.”
