St. Marks River Preserve State Park Hike - by Big Bend Sierra Club

Join Peter Kleinhenz, Aucilla River Watershed Coalition Coordinator for Tall Timbers, will lead this hike to explore one of our lesser-known state parks, St. Marks River Preserve State Park.

Located just outside of Tallahassee, the park preserves well-managed pine flatwoods, sandhill, and hardwood swamp habitats, all of which will be visible on an approximately four-mile round trip hike.

The park is an excellent location to see migratory birds, numerous reptile and amphibian species. Occasionally, hikers have spotted native mammals such as bobcat and black bear (we may just see their tracks, but you never know).
