Community Gardens Open House – a Sustainable Tallahassee/Leon County Extension feature of the 2019 Farm Tour

Join your favorite community gardeners as they host fall workshops in the garden!

The Community Garden Network is a project of Sustainable Tallahassee in partnership with UF/IFAS Extension Leon County.  This Saturday community garden Open House is a feature of the local Farm Tour being held the weekend of October 12-13.

The following four gardens will have a representative available to greet you on October 12, 2019, 9 am to 3 pm:

1.     iGrow - Tallahassee Food Network Community Garden: Located at 612 Dent St., Tallahassee, FL 32304
Workshops at iGrow - 

10 am: Planting and Maintaining Fruit Trees with Trevor Hylton 
12 pm: Composting with Sundiata Amah-El 
1 pm: Crop Rotation with Bakari McClendon

2.     Havana Community Garden: Highway 27, south of Havana, FL
Workshops at Havana - 

9 am: Cover Crops for all Seasons with Janis Piotrowski 
12 pm: Fall Crops with Mark Tancig and Molly Jameson

3.     Macon Community Garden: 322 Macon Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32312
Workshops at Macon - 

11 am: Planting and Maintaining Blueberries with Bud Chiles 
1 pm: Seeding and Transplanting Fall Crops with Lizette Kelly
1:30: Fall Crops with Mark Tancig and Molly Jameson

4.     Pumpkin Place: 2002 Harriet Drive, Tallahassee, FL
Workshop at Pumpkin Place - 

9 am: Fall Crops with Mark Tancig and Molly Jameson
