September's Green Drinks - by Sustainable Tallahassee

 Join Us at Green Drinks!

This month's program will be "Saving Wakulla Springs", presented by Jim Stevenson, Florida Springs expert.  He will guide us along the journey of water as it flows from Tallahassee through one of the longest and deepest cave systems in the world to Wakulla Springs.  Tallahassee's growth, and the continual use of septic tanks along the route to the springs, impacts the health of the Springs - learn about this amazing treasure beneath our feet and just to our south.

Jim Stevenson was the chief naturalist of Florida’s state parks for 20 years, the former coordinator of the Wakulla Springs Basin Working Group, and former chairman of the Florida Springs Task Force.  He will be leading four "Saving Wakulla Springs Overland Tours" this fall, so come to Green Drinks to learn more - and then take one of his tours.  They are all posted on this calendar (September 28, October 19, November 2, and December 21).

Green Drinks gatherings combine
an opportunity for conversation,
meeting others interested in sustainability,
and hearing an interesting speaker
on a sustainability topic.

Come at 5:30 to greet old friends and meet others who share an interest in sustainability. The program begins at 6:00.

We'll be meeting again this month in the upstairs balcony area at GreenWise Market.  Grab your drink and snack at the downstairs bar area, and take the elevator or stairs to join us in the balcony.
