As a Leon County resident, you are invited to participate in five Deep Dive Community Workshops hosted by the Tallahassee-Leon County Planning Department. Each workshop will have a different goal. At the workshops, you and other attendees will be asked to brainstorm and provide detailed input on our community will collectively achieve these goals.
Each workshop will take place in the second-floor conference room at the Frenchtown Renaissance Center, 435 North Macomb Street, from 6:30 – 8 p.m.
Tallahassee-Leon County Planning staff will use feedback gathered through the open houses, digital workshop and deep dives to refine and revise the proposed objectives. Staff will then take the revised objectives to the City and County Commissions for further consideration later this year.
The Land Use Element Update Project is an effort to update the local public policy related to land use and transportation in our community. This policy addresses how and where development occurs, how natural resources are preserved and protected, and how places are connected with roads, sidewalks, bike lanes and trails.
The Comprehensive Plan is a dynamic document that can be amended on an annual basis. The Comprehensive Plan’s multiple elements each address certain aspects of the community. Each element is comprised of aspirational goals, measurable objectives and strategic policies. Learn more about this process and download the current Comprehensive Plan at Talgov.com or www.LeonCountyFL.gov/Planning.
