Water Resources Committee

Mission

Promote protection and preservation of water resources and sustainable land development practices through education, outreach and collaboration.

We seek opportunities to collaborate with community partners such as Leon County, City of Tallahassee, Tallahassee Museum and IFAS/Leon County Extension to engage in activities and events that work to better our precious water resources.

We have organized a lake cleanup event, assisted homeowners associations and citizens to implement sound water management practices, and volunteered at community events.

Specifically, we assisted Killearn Estates HOA with renovation of two parks including implementation of Green Infrastructure to address erosion and water quality issues.  We also volunteered at a Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) Saturday educational event at the Tallahassee Museum where we performed fun water quality experiments.

We would love to have your involvement!  Just contact our committee chair to learn about meeting schedules.
